Brother-Sister Duo Fly for Mesa
From August 28th to August 31, 2021 the Chocallo siblings were able to have a rare opportunity as pilots with Mesa Airlines - they flew for the first time ever together! Previously they had not flown together in any planes with them at the controls.
A year and a half prior to flying together Dalton Chocallo (24) became a Captain and he patiently waited for the opportunity to fly with his First Officer sister Megan (24). The day finally came and due to the Chocallo’s close sibling relationship they were able to have a fun and relaxing trip with full trust in each other’s abilities as pilots. Growing up in sports they developed an enjoyable competitive spirit between the two of them. So they were able to “compete” to have the best landings on their four-day journey together.
The two have come from a long line of pilots in their family. It begins with their grandfather who is a retired pilot, then their father is a current pilot, and their mother and grandmother were both flight attendants. Their mother even has her commercial pilot’s license as well. On top of that, their Uncle is a retired commander from the Navy where he served as a pilot. It is safe to say that aviation runs in their blood!
Despite their family member’s careers, they never felt pressured into joining the airline industry, but growing up flying inspired them to continue down this path. Their family and themselves are very happy with that decision.
They are extremely grateful for this opportunity and look forward to flying together again and hopefully with their dad as well one day!
